Powdery mildew is one of the most serious diseases of mango. The fungus parasitizes young tissues of all parts of the inflorescence, leaves and fruits. White superficial powdery fungal growth is observed on leaves, stalks of panicles, flowers and young fruits.
Flowers and young fruits turn brown and are shed and in severe cases the entire blossom panicle may be infected and the fruits fail to set. Affected flowers and fruits drop prematurely.
